Mark's Story:
"For me, I never got anything without putting in a lot of effort.
There's no magical stuff that will make it swing my way. It's all from hard work
when it comes.
I put so much effort into what I do that I only want the best equipment. If
there's a cheap alternative out there I know it won't work for me and I wouldn't
want something that is going fold in half when I'm trying to pick someone up. I
don't want to stuff around with something like that. It's just a waste of
resources.
If you haven't been out there in the critical stuff, take it from me, you want
the best.
I've used my LifeSled in the West, used it for all my training, and in Hawaii,
and you notice the difference.
In South Australia when Twiggy got the 80'r and we got waves that weren't far
off it, we were out there in the most critical conditions ever surfed and we
were out there all day!
The LifeSled helped conserve every extra bit of energy and I could put that into
my surfing. You notice it and that was the best thing.
I've heard people say the LifeSled is heavier, but from my experience that is a
good thing. The other sleds when they hit chop they bounce up and people get
knocked off. If you think it's too heavy to travel with, well you don't travel
with your ski do you? So when you're organizing things at your destination you
just make sure it's a LifeSled on the ski at the other end.
I've had some gnarly times on other sleds. I was out west, Western Australia, in
Australia's biggest waves at Cowbimie and this other brand sled was so light I
went into the air upside down, got flipped so quickly as it had not stability
rods or tight bungees, and I came back down on the jet ski!
Another time at a secret offshore reef off the Australian east coast a mate came
in to pick me up and as I got on this other sled it bowed underwater,
hyper-extending my forearms and I almost went under. It buckled, nearly fricken
took my arms off, and I had to use so much strength.
There's no comparison, LifeSled has always got me out of trouble. If a LifeSled
didn't exist I would make a sled to be just like it.
You have to try it for yourself and you'll see what I'm talking about."
